Résumé tips for senior and leadership roles
Last updated 9 October 2026
Short answer. A senior résumé should lead with scope and outcomes: the size of the teams, budgets or products you were responsible for, the decisions you made and what changed for the business. Focus detail on the last ten or so years and keep earlier roles brief.
What senior readers look for
- Scope: team size, budget, number of markets or products.
- Decisions: what you chose to do, not only what you oversaw.
- Outcomes: revenue, cost, risk, quality, people developed.
Structure
- A summary naming your level and domain.
- Recent roles with three to six outcome bullets each.
- Earlier roles as one line each.
- Board roles, publications or speaking only if relevant.
Example bullet
"Led a 25-person support organisation across three time zones; restructured tiers and brought first-response times within target for the first time."
Two pages is fine
As long as page one carries the strongest, most recent evidence.
Questions
Should I list every early job?
No. Group early roles or give them one line.
Do I still need to tailor?
Yes. Emphasise the outcomes closest to the role's main challenge.
Conxto checks live postings against your résumé, tailors each application from your real experience and prepares the letter and answers. Copilot: you send it. Autopilot: it applies for you.
