How to email a hiring manager directly
Last updated 9 October 2026
Short answer. Keep a direct email to a hiring manager under about 120 words: the role, one specific reason you fit, one result that proves it, and a simple ask such as a short call. Apply through the official route as well, so your application is in the system.
Example
Subject: Product Analyst role, pricing experiments
Hi Jordan, I've applied for the Product Analyst role on your team. I've run 12 pricing experiments over the past two years and turned them into decisions on discount policy, which looks close to what the role needs. Would a 15-minute call next week be useful? Either way, thank you for reading.

Questions
Is it rude to email a hiring manager?
A short, specific, respectful note is generally fine; repeated messages are not.
Where do I find their address?
Use public professional profiles or the company's published contacts; don't guess personal addresses.
