What a pharmacist résumé has to show

  1. Registration status and registering authority
  2. Dispensing volume per week and setting (community, hospital, clinical)
  3. Clinical intervention or medication review numbers
  4. Controlled drugs, vaccination or specialist accreditations

Bullets you can adapt

Every one names a system or a surface, a change, and a number. Take the shape, not the figures — substitute your own and keep them defensible.

  • Supervised dispensing of roughly 2,400 prescription items a week across a 6-person pharmacy team
  • Made 380 documented clinical interventions in a year, of which 41 involved prescriber contact over interactions
  • Delivered 1,150 influenza and COVID vaccinations across two seasons with no adverse events requiring escalation
  • Ran 210 structured medication reviews for polypharmacy patients, deprescribing at least one item in 64 cases
  • Cut dispensing errors reaching the patient from 9 to 2 a year by introducing a second-check at handout
  • Managed a controlled drugs register with 24 monthly reconciliations and zero discrepancies over 3 years
  • Compounded 60 to 80 individual preparations a month, including paediatric suspensions, to written protocol

And the ones to cut

These are duties and adjectives. They describe a job title, not a person doing it.

  • Responsible for dispensing medication accurately and safely
  • Provided advice to patients on their prescriptions
  • Caring healthcare professional committed to patient wellbeing

Pharmacist résumé questions

Where does my pharmacy registration go?

In a certifications block directly under the headline, with the chamber or authority and the registration year. Employers legally cannot proceed without it, so it should never sit at the bottom of the page. If you are in the process of recognising a foreign qualification, state the stage and the expected date.

How do I show clinical value rather than dispensing volume?

Count your interventions. Documented interactions caught, prescriber contacts made and deprescribing outcomes from medication reviews are the clearest evidence that you are practising clinically. Volume alone reads as throughput, which is what a technician CV shows.

Community or hospital, should I tailor the CV?

Yes, they screen for different things. Community roles want vaccination services, counselling and commercial awareness, hospital roles want ward rounds, protocols and multidisciplinary work. Reorder the bullets so the first two match the setting you are applying to.
