Project Manager résumé example for 2026

Project management résumés are judged on scope and recovery: how large, how complex, and what you did when it went wrong. This example makes both explicit.

What a project manager résumé has to show

  1. Budget, headcount and duration for the largest projects
  2. Methodology named where it matters (Agile, PRINCE2, waterfall) — many filters match on it
  3. At least one recovery: a project that was late or over and what you changed
  4. Certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum) with dates

Bullets you can adapt

Every one names a system or a surface, a change, and a number. Take the shape, not the figures — substitute your own and keep them defensible.

  • Delivered a €3.4M ERP migration across 6 sites, 11 months, on budget and two weeks early
  • Recovered a programme running 9 weeks late by re-scoping to two releases; shipped the first on the original date
  • Ran a portfolio of 12 concurrent projects with a combined €7M budget and 40 contributors
  • Cut change-request turnaround from 14 days to 4 by rebuilding the approval path
  • Reduced project overruns across the PMO from 31% to 12% in one financial year
  • Introduced weekly risk reviews; escaped-risk incidents fell from 8 per quarter to 2

And the ones to cut

These are duties and adjectives. They describe a job title, not a person doing it.

  • Managed projects from initiation to closure
  • Coordinated with stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Project Manager résumé questions

Is PMP worth listing if it has lapsed?

List it with the dates it was held. A lapsed certification is a fact; hiding it and being asked about it is a problem.

How do I show project management on a résumé if it was not my title?

Lead the bullet with the scope you actually held — budget, people, duration. Titles vary by company; scope does not.

Should I list every project?

No. Three to five that show range in size and type. A list of twenty reads as a timesheet.

Start from this example, then make it yours.
